The Spring Matchplay event moves from Durham to Daventry for 2008 and now runs over an extra day. The exciting new tournament in a first class De Vere conference centre has attracted many of the UK's best players including ABSP GrandMasters Ed Martin, Harshan Lamabadusuriya, Femi Awowade and Terry Kirk. There is also interest from overseas with former Australian #2 Alistair Kane and Irish experts Rik Kennedy, Joe McGinley and Alex Balogun also competing for this Major Event title. Results from Div A will also be included in Bob Jackman's international ratings system.

With 25 games this is the second longest event of the Scrabble calendar (after the UK Open).
