2011 National Championship

About the Event

The finals of the 2011 National Championship will be held on Sunday, November 6 at Hallam Conference Centre, 44 Hallam Street, London, W1W 6JJ.

Players competed in seven regional events throughout the country to qualify for a semi-final event, which was held in Leeds on 10-11 September. Gary Oliver, 39, from Southampton and Wayne Kelly, 37 from Warrington emerged as the top two players at that event, and they go forward to play for the title of National Scrabble Champion 2011. Neither player has reached the Final before, so a new Champion is assured.

We would love you to attend the Final and view our Theatre presentationof the games. Doors open at 10:00 A.M. and entry is free. The players play in a separate room, with their moves being placed on a large board in the Theatre as they are played. There will be an expert on hand to explain and comment on the moves to the audience as they occur. Audience members are free to make their own comments and ask any questions they like, as the action unfolds. Refreshments are available for purchase throughout the event.

If you are unable to attend the event you may still view it live, online, each of the Final games will be posted to this web site ininteractive form, move by move.
